Just for those who are confused: Venom Snake is the medic who was in the helicopter with Big Boss (Naked Snake) who was then turned into Big Boss’ phantom, and Naked Snake went on to do his own thing. Venom Snake goes on to become the Big Boss that Solid Snake kills in the very original Metal Gear, and the Big Boss in MGS4 is still the original one from MGS3.

Me and my wife are huge fans of the series...saying that,her and I know a great deal about big boss and all the series characters...my wife has a gift for figuring shit out with the littlest info etc...before I got out the hospital or even out of the bed tbh she figured out that he wasn't the actual big boss
