I once made a rifle that fired 1/4” set screws. Same principle but with a section of tube stock, 2 solid stock handles, and a thread on chamber. I used firecrackers for the propellant but it could have been used with powder also. I was a bit afraid to try that. It was very powerful and actually deadly. It fully penetrated a car door and almost went fully through a 55 gallon drum.

I think that is armstrong mixture that you are mixing --- pretty potent explosive .
