just for conformation, he is saying "so long-a-bowser" but the g at the end of long and Mario's Italian "a" in the middle of it definitely sounds like gay. but yeah he is saying so long bowser. we found out from the source code leaks

I think Charles was lying.

The "ay" is just Mario's accent (no different than "let's-a go"), but it's drawn out enough that it sounds pretty awkward, haha.
