9 months ago I listened to this, dreaming of one day going to Paris. Now I'm listening to this again, living in Paris.

I decided to learn piano at age 43 and my goal was to play the Gymnopédie! I've reached that goal and I am beyond but I have this melody to thank for a decision I can never regret.

Don't let this music make you feel sad, for that is not why it was composed.

I love the feeling of melancholy I get from these pieces, this is exactly what I need right now. Life is rough but I try to stay strong. Music is the medicine for the soul.

It is a moment in time long ago. It exists only in memory. A perfected vision of how things used to be. It is an invitation to stop for a moment and smell the roses. The end of a long walk where the beginning no longer exists. It is the journey.

Beautiful way to appreciate the music of Erik Satie and the paintings of Edouard Cortes. They compliment each other so well.

One of the most beautiful piano pieces I've ever heard. Satie was a friend of Picasso, and they used to walk home together to Montparnasse in 1917 after rehearsing the ballet Parade, in which Satie wrote the music and Picasso the artwork.
