Don't leave the key turned on without the engine running because you'll fry the points.

I have a 57 4 door hardtop like this one, good luck with the project, the rear door dogleg area is a problem spot for this model as they don't reproduce much of it. Also the B Pillar area. They do make a 1 piece floor for the 4 door hardtop, so do that if you need to replace the floors..have fun!

The 265’s in 55 & i think in 56 didn’t have oil filters on them unless you got the high mounted one that I believe was dealer installed. The 283 came out in 57 and i am pretty sure that all the 283’s came with the oil filter mount cast into the block like yours. Cool car!

I’d be curious to see how you restore it. I’d watch it🏼

Sport Sedan as hardtop, one of the range-toppers. It probably has a factory fuel filter at the tank pickup or at the petrol pump - those plastic inline ones are good for nothing. Good effort.

You don't want to have that plastic filter on the pusher side because they'll split and leak gas on a hot engine and boom! Better to have it before the fuel pump.
