HI, my name is Valerie and I was one of the first bassists to have a channel on Youtube. In 2005 I uploaded a few videos of me playing my bass as a test. Shortly thereafter I was invited to play with different bands. I joined Johnny Rodes Outlaw Band and recorded at EMI in Nashville. Then I was invited to play in what became the world's first internet band. My 15 minutes of fame came with this band, The Clipbandits. We were on Tyra Banks Show, ABC World News, and Good Morning America. I have done a bunch of other videos with the online bands Few and Far Between (SteveCash83), Virtually Rush, and John Beagley. I've also played live on stage with the band, Marillion, at their Swap The Band event in Montreal 2011. There is a playlist of collabs that I have done on my channel. I haven't made any bass playing videos for a long time. Why? I was a full time caregiver for my mom for over 6 years. I have an eBay store and a Whatnot store. My current favorite artist is Quinn Sullivan.

thanks so much for taking the time to share your considerable skill - can't imagine why anyone would say you suck - you're both a great player and a great teacher (rare combination) because you actually explain and show what you're doing, unlike the show-offs who just play so you can't tell what they're doing.

Hi! Just gotcha on myspace... I play a SIX string bass- not because I was a guitarist- but because I am really greedy (there was this litlte voice in my head telling me,"Loooky there, you get to play a whole extra string...") lol And I am REALLY hooked on bass now!
