It taught Penny some important lessons:

I wish at the very least the twins were kind to Penny, this could've been an episode where they stand up for penny and show their appreciation towards her

God Penny’s “friends” being extremely flirty with her twins when they become teens, gives off the same energy of that one creepy dude who flirts with a girl as soon as she turns 18.

When Penny is an adult you know she's gonna dip out of her hometown and cut everyone off lmao

I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt a weird vibe with this episode. Strangely enough it's the only episode that stayed crystal clear in my head.

The term mean-spirited gets thrown around a lot. But this show definitely fits that description.

I hate this episode, it’s unfair that the tween twins got everything Penny wasn’t allowed to have. A nicer bed, a bigger allowance, early driving lessons, A BOYFRIEND! I’m surprised she didn’t run away from home in this episode.

I agree. This was worst lesson ever. Everyone else still treated Penny like garbage even before the twinz turn into teens. Penny begrudgingly babysits the twins, her so called friends laugh at her for babysitting, Penny wanted nothing to do with Al Roker but he wouldn’t leave her alone.

Penny should’ve wished for a Babysitter instead. That way she’s wouldn’t have to Babysit her brother and sister anymore.

The worst thing about this episode was the sexualization of teenagers, who just 24 hours ago were infants.

Penny’s friends were always terrible to her, but this episode definitely felt overly toxic.

I think this was unanimously the worst episode in the whole series, Penny's friends were fake towards her to begin with, even her family to a certain degree, Oscar's unfair morals, the constant babysitting, (referring to the series as a whole here). It almost makes me question if they actually love Penny, or did this episode maybe show her everyone's true colors?

I absolutely did NOT like this episode! Everyone in that episode was being unnecessarily mean and yeah like you said it was also pretty disturbing! It wasn't fun to watch Imo! Thank you for reviewing this!

Honestly lmfao this show never rubbed me the right way. Don’t get me wrong, the plot of the show. The graphics. Everything. But the stereotypes, colorism, adultification, and the normalized child abuse is insane. The amount of times Penny’s parents have forced her to do things she did not want to do, the fake friends she has, it was just never normal parenting tbh. And even at the end they gave Penny crap too. For a show that’s called The Proud Family, their show ain’t really that proud. Also I hate Trudy, she’s a horrible mom lmfao she would force her family members to do things.

This was a problem throughout the whole series. Penny's core friend group were all really unlikable assholes. Made it hard to watch the show when you don't like any of the characters half the time.
