I love the Yugioh logic of "if i beat you at this thing, you have to let me ___" we need more stories with this premise

the storyline, the foreshadowing, the character development, the world building. twitter wasn't lying, this is true peak cinema.

Two sides of Minecraft Twitter currently:

if the parkour civilization gimmick wasn't played completely straight this series wouldn't work. even at the end evbo doesn't even reform society as the champion, he just makes parkour civilization marginally more fair. he knows not of the world that came before him, and cannot imagine outside its bounds. it's hilarious

this was better than the minecraft movie

I adore how this isn't edited to trim out any of the recap since this was an episodic series and so you're constantly re-explaining things that happened literal seconds beforehand

Something about this. Something about the constant reexplaining of the premise/everything he just said, the constant use of the word “parkour”, the vine booms. Something about this makes this peak cinema. I genuinely don’t know why I’m watching this, or why I actually enjoy this, but this is truly entertaining.

Okay, but this movie is genuinely better than the Minecraft Movie. It understands what Minecraft is; a story in Minecraft shouldn't just be Minecraft, because everyone has experienced that story, and when you try to retell this same story to someone but with none of the emotional connections, it isn't going to be good. A Minecraft story should explore the Medium of Minecraft, the world it resides in. It should tell a new story that the watcher hasn't seen before, while anchoring it with the premise of Minecraft. The real tragedy is that Mojang already figured this out with Minecraft Story-Mode, yet they failled to understand what made it truly special.

Steven Spielberg apparently cried after watching Parkour Civilization, saying things like “Evbo is a true visionary” and “I could never match up to such a film.”

i'm not like other girls. i would jump for the beef.

The way this film is deeper and have more food for thought than half the modern media, bringing up some really serious questions if you think about it in different perspective
