I love how this song, even the og “It’s just a burning memory,” has some sort of dread that everyone recognizes but has a hard time understanding/explaining that feeling.

This song sounds like another way of saying “you have lost all hope and you have accept your fate.”

When you realize that "the good times" were never that good, it's just that your life is getting progressively worse and "the good times" were just better in comparison.

It's no longer a burning memory, it's now a burned memory, almost everything recognizable has been destroyed, yet you still cling to it as it's the only thing you have left.

This should be the game over theme of real life

it feels like this captures the feeling if you were to have suddenly found out that your mom or someone you loved had just died, everything freezes around you, you can't comprehend what you just heard and you're panicking, nothing is making sense, and you're just frozen there in a state of shock.

I feel a sense of comfort, but also a sense of loss.
