I have the 742 wood master I love it I keep it clean and only shoot remington cartridges at 150 grain it just seems to perform better I've killed a lot of deer with it many at 200. 300 and some farther it's all I deer hunt with it's been a great gun

I have never owned nor seen nor heard of a 740, 742 group that tight at even 25 yds. You better hand on to that one.

My grandpa gave me his woodmaster for Christmas when I was 14 after I got my hunting license I don’t understand when ppl say they jam all the time and are inaccurate mine hasn’t jammed once and it feeds amazing and it’s a tacdriver up to 400 yards

742/7400 are one of my favorite guns. You have to know how to feed them. I have a 270 that jammed/ blew primers. Cleaned it and lubed. Sub moa with 4 different loads. Cuss them if you want to I will keep mine.

I have used one of these rifles to hunt mule deer,it belonged to my landlord. When I went to sight it in I found that it preferred to shoot one load way better than the other loads that my landlord had. With Remington 168 grain core-locked, it was a tack driver! Wish I had offered to buy it ! Just saying

Your rear mount is backwards. Just saying. I've got the 1960 model drives tacks first 3 shots quarter inch group. The next 3 open up to 3)4 inch with hot bore. Good rifles if lightly used and kept super clean and lube

Trying to shoot with a scope that high is not fun or ideal

Absolutely garbage my wife has one and will not shoot accurately at any range I will never own one
