The part that is more disturbing is the complete silence filled with crickets, its last call to a member of its species, answered by crickets. The echo makes this truly saddening that it's waiting for a call that is never going to happen and now neither will ever happen again.

Not only it was the last of it's species, it was the last of it's genus (moho genus).

This was the Final Male calling out to a Female, not knowing he was the last of his species. It's so haunting and depressing knowing that he was out there by himself calling out, not knowing he was alone. It's even sadder knowing he had to live his final moments alone. It just has me wondering how long he probably kept looking and singing waiting for someone to respond to him and What did this duet between him and his mate sound like?
