Apparently the coral expert didn't know that some chariots were made of Iron and some of bronze as was reported in the Bible. Certainly there must have been some wood but the iron and bronze parts would have survived easily under the sea.

On both sides of the sea there are signs warning people that they are not allowed to remove anything from out of the sea
