The original The House of the Dead and Resident Evil were both set in 1998, had zombies in a mansion which had an underground lab, and has a mad scientist whose creations turned against them, and they were revived.

Well, couple things in common, between the two franchises, is that both started in 1996 and they have a LOTS of zombies.

Also both Albert Wesker has a son and also Dr. Roy Curien has a son. Both their sons are good guys.

house of the dead is fast paste while resident evil is slow paste which makes it more intense and scary than house of the dead

Resident evil is more of a scary zombie game vs house of the dead. house of the dead is frist person game re1 enemies are more scary.
