I’m a woman who grew up on SW and the EU. By trying to shift an amazing story to be ‘for everybody’ rather than just telling good stories that people naturally flock to, they ruined one of my fav movie franchises. And if they wanted to bring in another badass lady for the sequels, why on earth didn’t they bring in Mara Jade? Absurd. They’re not making what they’re calling Star Wars for everyone, they’re making it for themselves.

I was raised a SciFi fan by my dad. He and I watched both good and bad SciFi movies together. My friends weren't into science, fiction, or otherwise, but they did think Mark Hamill was cute ;) not to mention the boys in the audience ;)

Every guy in my age wanted there own Princess Leia. But I really didn't know many girls who liked or knew much about Star Wars. Luckily, I turned my daughters into fans!:_Xwing::_Xwing:

Star Wars was made for boys. Boys are the ones who love spaceships, and all that stuff. That doesn't mean we, girls, don't love movies like that, cause many of us do, I'm one of those girls who LOVE Star Wars since 1990, when I was 11 and watched the OT for the first time on national tv here in Portugal (and fun fact we don't dub the movies here, we use subtitles), and I know a lot of girls who love star wars too. BUT when Star Wars was made, boys was their target audience.
