I read that the Tokarev 7.62x25 will penetrate body armour designed to resist 9mm NATO. I did the same thing here recently with 9mm hornady critical defense and a ruger lc9s. I wrapped the two books in the pillow and taped it off. I got 3 out of 4 rounds fired, back. Only 1 made it all the way through.
