Despite him being a somewhat of a minor character, his death was hard to watch. He was kind, and he cared so much for his brother all the way to the end. He was a family man and had the potential that if he realized not all Eldians were "island devils" he would've i think been a good friend to the team. I mean the moment him and Gabi were spotted as they were looking for Falco he literally says " I have no choice", that was a sign that he, somewhat like Reiner, did not really want to kill or be in this war deep down inside.

自分の命がなくなるのに「兄ちゃんがついてるからな」って言って最後の最後まで抱きしめてるあたり相当弟思いの優しい兄だったんだな

最初の戦争のシーン見てると、マガト隊長ってやっぱり高度な戦略面を持ちながら、候補生の子供達に対して愛情もってるなぁって思いました。

Colt character is interesting not just because he is undoubtly a loving brother but also because he is just like any other big brothers who will sacrifice anyone to save their little brother. I think that what makes Zeke, Marcel, and Colt interesting: there is a bit of maliciousness under their good big brother self. It makes the scene where Colt praises Gabi on the train more layered because he favored Gabi to inherit armored titan rather than Falco. His face here 09:37 also shows that he has no interest in anything but to save Falco. Him pleading Zeke to not scream until Falco is out of range is so selfish that Zeke understands it very much and screams anyway. What a great episode!
