Thank you. I have long questioned the extent to which our (Black) family structure and operation was changed after were colonized and enslaved. What were we like before? What was our method of disciplining children? What was our view of God? What did we believe about homosexuality? What did we believe about abortion and euthanasia?

It always amazes me how there’s a focus on single mothers and not absentee fathers. I’m American and if 50% of marriages end in divorce plus add in unwed mothers, most women will end up single mothers.

I knew what child support was before I hit puberty. I witnessed my mother allow herself to be abused by two men (the fathers) who had nothing (and still don’t). It looked awful. I made sure I wouldn’t go through working several jobs, being abused, giving birth multiple times, and praising male mediocrity (obviously this doesn’t apply to all men).

Am a single black mother & there are men with kids & single as well, why is the stigma around us, for me my ears are full, I just go about my daily live & recently I found out that my married friend is suffering emotionally in her marriage, a lot are not happily married, am grateful to God for my peace
