Description
I've always loved the sound of a pipe organ, in my opinion, it's the best musical instrument in the world. Comments I often hear, even from people I assume should know better, reveal a staggering ignorance about pipe organs.
With the steady demise of church congregations, pipe organs will be used less & maintenance will become impractical other than in large Cathedrals.
I started learning piano at 5 but never liked the sound, I find it boring & cold, though I admit it has its place, just not as a solo instrument.
This may be a very controversial opinion but I also believe only a true naturally born musical person will understand that. I DO NOT ACCEPT that anyone can be trained to be musical, you're either born with or without the natural musical talent, you can learn to play an instrument very well (far better than me) or sing, but without the natural ingredient, to me there is something missing. I can't explain it better. If you are a true musician, it is from nature NOT nurture.

If great songs and singing were the gauges of the greatness of a nation Wales would be a superpower ... I'm English btw.

I am Welsh and very proud of it,even more proud when asked at a funeral of an Englishman from Kent, that myself and friends who travelled there to attend his funeral, were asked to sing Cwm Rhondda in Welsh, very ,very honoured we were .

My grandfather was from Wales and my Dad loved to sing. Especially hymns. This song makes me feel close to my Dad who is singing in heaven.

I came to Wales in 1965 and fell in love with it, especially the singing. Bought records of male choirs, and met singers. Even sang in a pub myself. Thank you for your music; never let it die.

I went to the Isle of Man on my honeymoon. A men’s Welch choir was staying at the same hotel-they were there for a music festival. The average age of the members was about 85 I think they said.-that were all so happy to meet us! They sang together at the pub every night. It’s a favorite memory

I've just learnt a good friend of mine,a proud Welshman, died on 22 September,11 days short of his 65th birthday. The news has gone around our local pub like wildfire, customers, former work colleagues are united in their sadness and grief.Playing this song, which I personally love anyway, seems a nice way of paying tribute.RIP, Dave,so many people are going to miss you

I am not Welsh but Chilean. However I have been impacted by the lyrics of this hymn which is a true prayer where both guide and direction are asked for to live this life until the believer in Jesus is called to live with his Heavenly Father.Let the Lord bless his children through this hymn for all generations!

I was born in Germany, but am American of Celtic background. Grew up Lutheran, but the LCA grew too liberal for my taste. Found myself loving my great aunts' church in Savannah, Ga.-which was Anglican and became an Anglican in '78. Haven't lost my love of my German heritage, but I want to go over to the UK, Ireland, and Germany if it takes a bucket list one day to get there. I soon discovered my 1940 Hymn Book contains this very hymn-and many others I love today.

There was a great Revival in Wales ! Singing songs to God like this, no wonder. The Welsh are without doubt, the best singers ! Hope and pray there's a Revival there as well as my country Scotland, England and NI.
