You are a hero. I have been dealing with that garage door jerk for a few months now and was really dreading paying hundreds to a garage door company for what I knew had to be a simple (but not so obvious) fix. I owe you a beer, dude.

Thanks so much, this problem has been causing me so much grief. My mother-in-law was starting to make a fuss and she doesn't even live here.

It worked for me. I have been having this issue for some time now. I didn't even think about the seal. My garage door gets direct sun all afternoon. I inspected the weatherstripping and found it essentially glued to the door paint in many places. I freed it with a plastic putty knife and applied Ultra Slick lube to the door edge and seal. What a difference. Thanks for the tip.

This has been driving me crazy trying to discover what was causing this. I was about to call a tech. Never thought about the seals getting sticky over time but it totally fits. I would only 'jerk' after sitting for some time. Thanks man!

Had the same issue, and was driving me crazy trying to pinpoint the problem. Thanks for sharing the solution! I used Dawn dish soap, was very easy to apply. If it doesn't last I will try Vaseline next.
