I have spent many, many hours sitting in chairs identical to this one. I also have made many of them for myself and to give to friends. A long time ago there was a simple modification to the usual design which helped mitigate and then remove the unofficial name - "The Tipsy Chair".

We’re having an extension built at the moment. There is a lot of wood left over from the 1st floor joists, this will be a perfect winter project for me now. I’ll build some small ones for the primary school on our village, for the kids to sit on in the playground, and maybe make some larger ones for the school to use as prizes when raising money.

I appreciate this. I made two out of a single 2x12x12 board. I just applied poly and left them unstained. They're sharp. Again, I appreciate this.

I’ve been sawing lumber since 1986 and looking at the grain on the pattern piece and new piece, I noticed the grain lines up! Same planks beside each other from the same tree!
