I saw mortar and cannon rounds rolling up in the Normandy surf everyday in July of 1983. Disposal of found ammo was a routine part of the Lifeguard job on the French seaside beach.

My Father John B Frazier made 5 beachheads in the Pacific Islands. USMC they were Peleiu, Guadalcanal,Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian.He never talked about it and I never asked.He ,his Brother my Brother and I all were in the Marine Corps. My Father passed away in 2003 ,he was a hell of a man !

My dad was in the 1st Marine Division he was a forward Observer mortar crew, he fought on bloody nose, Guadalcanal was some of the most brutal fighting in the most brutal conditions they were truly the breed

6:16 is amazing! After reading With the Old Breed and watching The Pacific, I would love to see this bunker Sledge, Snafu, R.V. Burgin and nine other marines conquered in person.
