It looks . l washed my rice before I cook it, and l add 1 can of coconut milk and Bay leaf s to my rice. The canned coconut milk takes the rice to a whole different level of flavor.

It's so amazing everyone cooks differently but gets the same results. I'll try making my rice this way. I'm a Bahamian too.

Yah boy! I love this vid. You can tell you love to cook, from "heavy food" to "light food", even down to the desserts. I am loving your channel. Everyone must be have a set of these pots. They are great for soup, grits, and of course rice! Everyone have their special type of rice, and to be honest, I am a "grits" person, I'll admit, I ain no big fan of parboil rice, but if it looks as good as your pot, I would eat it. I love the fact that you cook down your herbs, and add that thyme. You can't have peas n rice without celery and that thyme!

The basics are the same but each house their own variation. I like yours (except for the parboiled rice ).

Nice - a couple of things to try. You can fry out some bacon first and use the oil for the sautéing (extra flavor) - I would add the peppers before the tomatoes (better to sauté them than steam them), and fry out the tomato paste for a short minute before adding the peas and rice. Additionally, you could consider rinsing the rice first if you would like it less sticky. Either way, I’m sure the taste will be superb. How are you with conch fritters ?
