awesome, two very distinct flavors. the echoplex sounds more conventional and musical, really thick too. the space echo sounds bright, full and noisy (which isn't a bad thing). i'd give the edge to the echoplex; it seems like it will stand the test of time much longer..

To me, the non-restored Echoplex sounds just as good as the fully restored 301. I like them both. I'll trade you my Line 6 Echo Park for whichever one you don't want.

They both sound fantastic and each has their usefulness! I would use the Echoplex when I want the echos to lay back more in the mix, and the Roland when I want to bask in hearing the tape wobble on the repeats.

For me the Echoplex is much more subtle and musical. I have a tc 2290 analog delay and would love to have a real tape delay.
