Giganotosaurus was longer than T rex but it was more slender and weighed less than the T Rex.

Very enjoyable .Well done .We recently viewed the casting of Lucy on display at the BC Museum in Victoria . It was very impressive. More impressive was the fleshed out life size model of Lucy in the room before you saw the Skeleton casting . Absolutely mind blowing and worth the price of admission alone .Truly a terrifying creature to faced .Cheers .

My favorite dinos are Hypsilophodon (thanks The Isle), Allosaurus, Dilophosaurus, Coelophysis, Ceratosaurus, Troodon, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Anchiornis (cute), Torvosaurus. There is more but the list could goes almost to the infinite. Giganotosaurus was also a great carnivore that could have rivalled with T-Rex, Achrocantosaurus or Spinosaurus if they lived in the similar era and environment.

Due to some studies, tyrannosaurus is actually larger than giganotosaurus in terms of mass and height, only weighting at 6-7 tons, pretty small compared to a large tyrannosaurus
