Stavros Chr. Anastasopoulos
Description
Stavros Anastasopoulos was born in Athens, Greece. He comes from a well-known family of Greek artists. He holds a BA, an MA, and a PhD in Classics from the University of Athens. His doctoral dissertation, which runs to over 700 pages, examines the contrast between moderate and radical Athenian democracy through the prosopographic analysis of four statesmen of the moderate faction. He has authored six academic books in Modern Greek, while he has published a number of articles in both academic and literary journals. He has also lectured extensively on Plato and has been interviewed by the Greek media on the enduring value of ancient Greek philology. His research interests focus on Platonic studies, Thucydides, and Aristophanes. Furthermore, he is a full member of the Literary Society “Parnassos”. He is engaged in writing philosophical essays and books with the objective of contributing to the history of philosophy. Finally, several of his poetical compositions have been published.
