No one else could have gotten away with what Don Rickles did. He was legendary.

What I love about Don is he would rip you to shreds, but he always ended with the heart felt message.

"Can't you see I'm eating?!" Gotta be the best punchline ever done to Sinatra. What an absolute genius.

Don Rickles loved Sinatra…. He and Carson helped him immensely at the beginning of his career, and Rickles never forgot it. He thanked him constantly and was loyal to Frank until the very end.. Don was even a pall bearer at his funeral.

Rickles would wring you out, then end the set with some heartfelt words that left his 'victims' feeling blessed. There will never be another.

I know it's my age talking, but I really miss the entertainers of the 60's and 70's. Such class.

The gag Rickles pulled on Sinatra in the restaurant has to be one of the all-time best.

According to James Bacon's book Made In Hollywood, Don was making a name for himself around the night clubs circuit as the master of insult, suddenly it became fashionable to be roasted by him. Then one night Sinatra appeared, up to that day they had never met. He kept creaming everybody in the room but never even addressed Frank's presence, as if he was invisible. Then, in what became a very tense moment, Don approached Frank's table, looked at him and asked "Remember when you used to have a voice, Frank ?" Sinatra's jaw dropped to the table, then he exploded laughing, as did everybody else there. Since then they became long life friends.

I absolutely envy these times… because of the entertainment.. just amazing!

Those two have been friends for a long time, up until Frank's death in 1998 at the age of 82. In show business, that's a rarity. And both of these men are sorely missed. Legendary entertainers.

I've seen and heard these jokes a 1000 times and yet I'm here crying and laughing . The best ever

Don's fake Italian names kill me every time. Garbanzo LMFAO.

Despite all of the jokes and teasing each other, both Don Rickles and Frank Sinatra really loved each other from the bottom of their hearts. And opposed to what Don Rickles said in many of his jokes,it is truly not over, for they both now live in eternity.May they love each other from the bottom of their hearts forever!!!…Karl Schumaker

Don Rickles is the only man in the world who will tear you to pieces yet he'll make you love him for it.
