If this anime realistically represented the real world crimes, it would be way too depressing. This anime has done a phenomenal job depicting the crimes and their consequences without too much of dark atmosphere.

Everybody deserves a chance in life, but these kids.....they didn't get one.

Those 3 episodes absolutely wrecked me. I never once thought I'd feel bad for those two but that ending with Gretel combined with the closing credits had me blubbering like a damn baby!

At least, Rock was able to give love to one of these kids, That kid at least got some Empathy and compassion from another human being in their last hours

I commend this show for having the balls to touch this horrific but too common subject that happens in real life. They were children . One can forget that when they only see homicidal maniacs. But they were raised around violence, rape, and torture. They had to do what they could to a survive. Their minds were so twisted and spirits so broken they actually believed that killing makes you live forever. If you take that away,then they would be forced to realize that those monsters just did that to them for no reason other than they could. They lived in the world of midnight for so long they couldn’t comprehend the light: compassion, kindness, love.....dying was the only way for them to be at peace. And looking at that white, ethereal beach, something tells me the twins ended up somewhere that’s better than the life they were forced to live.

poor kids they are just victims like revy of this real world. these series shows the darkness and animalism in these world but rock show us a better version. underrated series.

This arc have a very dark message.. World is dominated by evil, it's just about how we play with it.

To me, this scene represents the twins in the afterlife, still together, enjoying the love, innocence, and happiness stolen from them in their earthly lives. They've finally made it from the world of midnight to the world of sunlight.

This is the saddest song I've ever heard in my entire life. It's sounds like something you hear from a funeral of someone really close to you who passed away. Imagine the sorrow & despair while hearing this.

Truthfully an underrated gem of an arc.

When the final episode involving this ark ended and this song played, I had to walk to my bathroom and let it all out. I could not stop crying for minutes. While I have teared up during certain pieces of animation, no cartoon in the world has ever done THIS to me before. This show truly is a masterpiece.

Black Lagoon is one of my favorite animes but those three episodes were heavy...
