That scene is genius. It's like the perfect reenactment of the experience of getting fired: the silence, the off-handed small-talk remark, the following from behind. etc..

They could have stretched the walking out another 20 minutes and turned it into a new episode, at least by today's standards.

Despite this most likely being deleted because of Peter's tattoo and the firing gag taking too long, once again I HAVE to give MacFarlane credit. This is EXACTLY what corporations do and how they do it when they fire you. The lack of emotion, the small talk (like the weather), other employees acting like there is nothing wrong (the security desk guy) etc. Even the way the CEO is like "I'd like to have a word with you in private." Even the choice of "My Beautiful Balloon" as the elevator music was EXCELLENT for an airline company. MacFarlane really nailed this one!
