Description
Videos are of my freelanced HO scale layout. Set in the late1970's early 80's. All DCC controlled by NCE. Locos use Digitrax decoders. Please enjoy them and leave comments, good or bad. I respond to them and hope they might inspire someone. Future planes include tons of scenery and more buildings which I hope to video. Thanks for checking out the Black Rock Central RR

Prototypical oil refineries would usually be a lot larger. This looks to me like a small chemical plant that produces a single product, plus various by-products which have to be stored as shipped out for disposal or further processing, and also stores a significant inventory of the chemicals it consumes. Pretty much any number or type of tanks could fit depending on exactly what is being processed and how.

Wow way to go Joe. Was reading Dennis comment below, he was talking about actual size/ components. That this would represent basically a chemical plant. I worked at a refinery for a while and he is kinda right. But that’s okay it’s your refinery. Two things I would suggest, and I hate this because I’ll have to do it as well, more lights, it’s like daylight at night and everything including the towers gets lights. Other , but this is for prototype look, would be tank burns.n you hate when the stuff spills out of them tanks.

Joe your Refinery is really looking great. The improvements are making it look impressive and large like the real deal. As for prototypical I can't say but who gives a. It looks great. Keep having fun, Chris

Cool Joe you’re making it come to life. The lighting looks great but like you said it could use a few more lights.

The refinery looks great Joe! I have no idea if it's prototypical or not either, but I think it works. I love night scenes, your lights look great but I agree - you need a few more. Great job on the scene!

Looking very good Joe. I used to marvel at all the lights on the stacks at night on the refineries in the UK near Chester.
