Description
I know it's shenanigan but my last name is Shin so...anyway, welcome to my financial journal where I openly share my investing progress (the bull, the bear, the ugly) and reveal a bit too many numbers.
Don't expect any money advice but feel free to cheer at my gains or laugh at my losses as you follow me to financial freedom, hopefully.

Imagine thinking you know more about investing than Warren Buffett.

82% of professionally managed funds do not outperform the S&P 500. If you think a normal retail investor is somehow going to do better than the pros, I think you’re dead wrong.

Great perspective. I think its all about Risk tolerance and also how much time you're willing to spend researching a company. I personally have both, but individual stocks make up a majority.

I somewhat agree. I like target date index funds because they are more diversified.

Only thing I would disagree is your take on stock picking when you're saying "most people dont have time or are too lazy" whereas in fact majority of professional money managers are spending full time to do it and it just doesnt work compared to an index fund. So it's not about how much time somebody spends on research it's just very unlikely to succeed in stock picking (compared to index funds of course)

Long-term it beats almost everything. That makes it a great investment.

you are saying to buy an equal weight of all sectors? how would that compare to the index 500?

He said that once. But I think Value investors typically don't like index funds because there is no value. I think Buffet said you should invest in Berkshire instead of SP500 but that SP500 could deliver gains because it doesn't take profit like Berkshire does.
