For beginners I usually recommend US or Soviets for ground forces and the Brits for air force as those low tier vehicles have the best balance of properties that make them easy to use for beginners and not too high sl repair costs

Easy, you want something stupid proof? Play Russians japanese or Italians. You want less of a handicap, play British. You want to be good at the game, play Americans or Germans, they build more on discipline and shot placement.

I started with Japan and I’m up to tier 5 all of the tanks above tier 3 are great for 1 shooting side on tanks but if your versing any kind of well armourd tank your dead

for me what is `best` is whatever looks coolest or has the greatest historical significance. whether or not the tank is actually any good is largely irrelevant ;p

With the Russians, you also have to keep in mind their generally bad gun depression and bouncy suspension.

C'mon, Japanese tanks are good for no-one, British tanks require an enormous effort that is not required for the other nations. If you don't know what you are doing, go Soviet, or maybe German. American tanks are somewhere between the utter frustration of British and the ridiculous ease of playing Russian.
