I'm so glad I just now realized these instruments existed back then. I always thought all the "Norse" music were just putting bowed instruments in there because it sounds so "traditionally Scandinavian", but the violin was only invented in the 16th century and the cello in the 17th. I didn't realize there were other "violin-like" instruments well before then. (But how complicated is it really to realize grinding wires together makes a cool sound?)

Interesting (and a bit frigtening) that YT recommended me this right after i talked about making my own Tagelharpa with someone...
