Got what I came for at 19:50 thanks for the guide - I didn't know waypoints existed.

Did you know, the line going from Lincoln to Cleethorpes is the UP line, even though it is not going to London. Things you didn't know. A little factoid for you too, if the signal number is an even number, it's the UP ine.

what you explained in 4:51 (and before) might be correct, however you get a bottleneck on that switch point, if and if you put to many trains on the line, they will wait for each other and maybe block each other, so the player has to correct it. A better solution is the fast line (the white line in grass visualization) that crosses the 2 other going up and over a bridge. That takes a little more money and space to the left and right because the newly added dirt on the ground takes space, however it will bring more efficency if you put multiple trains on the lines

That's actually really good to know. I haven't done any of this so my tracks probably look very scary to a rail enthusiast.

This is exactly what I needed, thank you very much!

There's a variation of the track sequence change near Wimbledon train depot. Heading west the layout is DUDU, but just before the depot the left hand Up line climbs up a flyover and when it re-joins, the layout is DDUU. It's somewhat odd since after Basingstoke the track changes to D UD U and the solo Up line crosses to join the solo Down line to peel off for Southampton.

And how to build bridges and tunnels as I have trouble getting it right. But maybe you’ll do this in the grade separated tutorial.

Excellent guide. Cheers mate.

If I've understood correctly, the usual 4 track config consists (oops pun) of the up/down slow lines on the outside with the 2 inner tracks being the UP/Down fast for intercitys?
TheEpicGnome (21 hours ago)
So, how would you set up a through station for mixed cargo and passenger? I’ve jumped into the deep end, probably running more track than I really need, but I wanted to run a 4 track mainline, and learn how to put together a station.

Fantastic, clearly explained.
