I honestly don’t understand why the rating is what it is. Swearing is still censored, there’s no blood or anything like that, the most explicit thing in the whole show is probably the scene in episode 1 where Scott and Ramona are briefly in their underwear. And I guess they do also mention sex, offhandedly.

You have clearly never read the source material as their just like the anime show. The comics has sex and cursing as well as drinking and what not. The comic was never meant for kids and nether is the new show.

I personally enjoyed it because it starts to flesh out the characters more and it’s set up in a way that makes you realize there’s more to see in their world. Which means potentially more seasons.

After watching the show, there is swearing, blood, and other mature content in it and let’s be real here, age rating don’t always effect the odds of people watching a mature movie or buying a M Rated game

Ngl I did feel betrayed after the first two episodes, but overtime I understood the decision they decided to make with Ramona’s character and the evil exes’ storylines and it ended up being a pretty fun watch. The obvious win for the show was the animation hands down. But I do wish even if they decided to go a different route, they should’ve made it longer than 8 episodes in order to add deeper emotional moments between characters and the potential resolution for all their archs. Unfortunately not all the characters got to complete their archs and the season felt like it was trying to do so much in little time. Hope they get more resources to make more episodes for next season and allow moments for characters to explore their deeper emotional states and satisfying resolutions.

As somebody that has never even so much as heard of SP, watched the whole series in 1 sitting, loved it.
