I love German sense of humor when it came to some tanks. The Panzer and Tiger were respectable to the animal they were named after. Yet the Maus and Ratte were gigantic. Then, we got the Golith...a tiny remote controlled exploding tank.

This makes the MAUS sound like a sane idea

Being a veteran of Iraq, and member of an armored vehicle (M6 Bradley Linebacker) and having done a couple patrols on an M113 and an Abrams, I see this vehicle and think of how hard maintenance would have been for that. If you break track, or have to change a roadwheel, I think I would rather have surrendered to the enemy than deal with changing a shock. AND my experience is with vehicles that were way easier to deal with than WW2 tanks! I already respect the hell out of anyone that was a crewmember on an armored vehicle even lighter than the Bradley at 27 tons.
