I was wondering the same thing as you. I couldn't get it to move so I decided to search on youtube - LOL! Thanks for letting us know what it is for and we shouldn't try to open it. I agree it should be marked somehow. I almost messed up my camera - WOW!

Just received my hero 10 and was absolutely gutted as I did exactly the same. thought it was a door of some kind. Thanks for the info, hopefully doesn't affect the camera.

If you'd read the manual, page 7 clearly says: 12. Drain Microphone

Just got my first GoPro. Really not sure why there isn’t one little picture in the packaging of what this is. At first it looks like the perfect spot for charging cable or Micro SD. Now I know that they put those in weird spots to help water proof.

I was about to break mine with the same curiosity , thanks for the heads up bro.
