i think ung monitor is for the volume that you are hearing. the master volume is still the big knob. if you turn the monitor off, you can still pick up really loud sounds if the master volume is max, but you won't hear it while you're talking. if monitor is turned up, you will hear yourself through the earphones. it doesn't really turns the volume up.

To those who are using laptop you can do the same process. Big check kay kuya na accurate and detailed yung explanations na sinabi niya.
