I used to think that skyrim is a casual game...but then fallout 4 cameout
kylestallings9684 (10 minutes ago)
The cars vs. buses analogy is actually pretty damn good.

The things that piss me off the most about the TES series is the removal of a load of shit, not the quests, not the journal, just the shear removal of so much. In Morrowind there were spells for days. Once Oblivion and Skyrim hit it was easy to notice the differences, all the way up to removal of an ENTIRE SCHOOL of magic (goodbye Mysticism, you will be Myst). The removal of spears was ridiculous, and gone forever. Say goodbye to throwing weapons as well. Then it took Bethesda all the way till Dawn Guard to give us our fucking crossbows back. That's right kids crossbows aren't new at all!

RPGs should be complicated. It's the point and fun of it.
RoosterCogburnPhD (31 minutes ago)
ultimately, the removal of so many of these Role-Playing elements turns the game into a very mediocre first-person action game

I'm really excited for an Elder Scrolls 6, but at the same time I am worried they'll dumb it down to a point where it's hardly even an RPG
TheRageaholic (52 minutes ago)
"Most of the dumbing down took place between Morrowind... and Oblivion..."
philipschindler929 (2 hour ago)
I disagree with most of the points you made:
pap4339 (2 hour ago)
This is more relevant than ever with Fallout 4's release. Bethesda just doesn't care anymore. I can already see the interviews for TES 6 coming.

fallout new vegas did it good... wait it isn't a bethesda game
Zedait1 (18 hours ago)
I have to disagree on you with oblivion being the weakest of the series, I love Oblivion to death and i see the many issues involved with it but it still for me was a whole lot more engaging than Skyrim ever was even when i modded it.

I have debated this more times than I can count.  Well Presented!

This was actually an issue in the past but games nowadays are so casual that it becomes the norm
