I'm from Storms River and was the person who discovered the damminig effect on the Witteklip river one day after the tragedy. I was a witness in the civil case in which Storms River Adventures was found to be not liable. The water levels were within acceptable levels. However the damming on the Witteklip river and the resulting released wave upon the breaking of the dam was a freak event and has since then never happened again. Thank you for the accurate report. I still live in Storms River...it is one of the most beautiful areas in the country. Well worth a visit.

My dad was also invited on this trip and we as a family would have joined on the trip as part of the Engin group, but few days before, my dad got sick and we ended up not going. Lots of their friends perished on that trip. RIP
