I guessed D, because Neil's lyrics WERE pretentious and made no sense. And Dave is the kind of guy who would say something like that, as his lyrics were at the opposite end of the intelligence and pretention scale. Even though the two bands featured amazing musicianship, they had little in common. Van Halen, with DLR, was raw party rock, and had just as many chick fans as male. Whereas RUSH was a band for musicians and nerds, where the audience was 10 dudes for every chick.
