sethalonian here with my first developer pro tip explaining proper wood grain. wood, and wood planks are both very powerful materials with a lot of detail. In real life wood flows long ways see the grain? in creates lines and you want the lines be long and flow and smooth like that. But in roblox that's not always the case. we get this.. kind of.. badly flipped wood that's all stacked on top of each other and it doesn't really make sense and it looks a little out of place and you're like "whaaaat somethin looks weird!" so how do we fix this? well there's this handy little plugin by stravant that is a must own plugin right here. its called material flip! and it allows you to click on a surface and flip the grain of whatever surface there is, does not work on unions or meshes but uh base parts it works and its really useful. So you just simply click to rotate a surface but you gotta watch out because one surface does not always fix the surface because look here wood flows this way here but the other way up here so you gotta click on both the surfaces to make sure that it all flows the correct way and wood is harder to notice but you can see here that this is the correct wood grain and this isn't... There you have it! That's how you fix improper wood grain
