You made that look easy. Thanks for sharing.
steve-zb1eb (10 minutes ago)
That's about the simplest method I have seen for loading a deer by yourself. Thanks!
drewventures9154 (17 minutes ago)
Am I the only one who thinks of just picking it up and calling it a day
williambisset7952 (27 minutes ago)
If you have gut the deer first, it makes it a lot lighter to load.
JCR971 (32 minutes ago)
He should be able to throw a deer that small into that truck wit one hand lol
jocohobo1949 (46 minutes ago)
For heavier deer maybe you can use a simplified ramp, maybe a 2x6x6 and a second ratchet rope. Hook up one end, then repeat on the other end and keep swapping ends and "walk" the deer into the truck. Might not work but the concept seems sound.

So simple. Those rope ratchets come in different sizes. Even the smallest would work. Great method.

Good idea. For a bigger buck I'd suggest doing the same thing you're doing, only anchor the ratchet rope towards the front of the truck. Then when you get the rack up to tailgate level you stand on the gate and basically do a dead lift and haul the deer up. Obviously that won't work for disabled folks. Great idea overall. I use a similar method myself. Basically the same for smaller deer.

Simple is as simple does, that's elegant in its simplicity. Thanks for sharing.

According to OnX, I carried a buck 0.99 miles on my shoulders Saturday afternoon. I didn't put the buck down to rest once because I knew I wouldn't be able to get him up there again. I'm 32, don't work out and broke my heels with multiple screws in my right heel.

Nice! I just quarter them up personally, but hope this saves some folks from a back injury
BloodTrailerOutdoors (5 hours ago)
Not a bad idea I like it

Who loads the deer when it's full of guts there's a smarter way around this
DalonCole (6 hours ago)
Open a beer. Call a buddy on the lease. Wait. You're welcome. LOL

I can’t believe people talking about deer size and strength and all. Great idea, thanks!
tumtumblackhawk (17 hours ago)
Killed a heavy doe and used this exact method today! You’re the man.
