Fact: 100% of black deck users quit before they ante 12... will you be the first to make that 99%?

I've been playing slay the spire again. This is honestly the real reason that slay the spire is so damn good, but instead of making a machine that cascades into a number, you want to produce a machine that with the right input can create the output to respond to varied potential fights that could be ahead of you in a run. Simulanously, you balance a cascading system of cards that can produce bigger numbers through their interactivity with each other while also potentially being forced to make decisions that reduce that potential for bigger number as you collect answers to the specific questions the upcoming fights ask you, like having to get a good split on slime boss, or having the burst damage to defeat slaver 3 in the taskmaster fight before he nets you.

This is exactly why I feel like Ballionaire didnt blow up the same way. I played it a bit and it was exactly what you said about decisions and "clocking out" but to an even higher degree.

I feel like risk of rain 2 (and 1) are an early example of this style of cascading synergy design, and I LOVE ror so its really exciting to see new roguelikes take it further and further
