I'm surprised with your love of Fallout that you play it on a console. Switch to PC and I got a nice list of mods that can fix every issue you have with that game.

That guy dying isn't a glitch. I've encountered him in many playthroughs and he always dies. I think he's supposed to die so you can read his note, because he's delirious so you can't ask him about it.

"Fallout wouldn't be fallout with (insert F3 shit here)" Fallout would be Fallout. Fallout 1 and 2 were bloody good games and were the TRUE Fallout games. Fallout 3 may be an amazing game, but isn't anywhere close to the legacy Fallout 1 and 2 bestowed upon early pc gaming.
