If you're still looking for good loops of the songs, I recommend "Los Shitpostings de Juame" I found them randomly and they're pretty good.

The thing all 3 antagonists have in common is that they can't see. The Grandfather is blind and ignorant of how his smoking habit is killing him. He also cant see how his dependency on his granddaughter is unfair. The dad literally only sees himself. He never looks at claire. And his obsession with himself is debilitating to the point where he cant function because of his insecurities. And theres even a small visual in his song where his skin gets torn and bleedw because of his warped perception of beauty. The mom also can't see opal because of her intoxication. Her vision is all blurry. She can't see that she's harming opal. She can't see that no one owes her an apology or repentance.

I think the overall theme of the family members is denial. The denial that they have problems or that they’re problems are partially caused by their choices. This also applies to Clair who’s in denial over her family.

I heard theories that the flashbacks the mother has is beating her husband and that’s how the husband got disfigured so he tried to fix his face so much that ruined his skin and made himself bleed (you can see it in the song). Also his room is the bathroom (there’s a toilet and sink in his room so he probably lives there)

the part with the mother hits me really hard. my mother always had a pill addiction, got into a lot of trouble, and when i came home from school she was like not even the same person. slurring her words, saying confusing stuff. im 26 now and im starting to have a problem with anxiety pills due to my stress. "you're just like me". this short is like facing my truth.

I feel like one of the most terrifying parts of the reprise of "We See You, Opal" at the end of the film that I haven't really heard anyone else say anything about is the final line, where her imaginary family sings "And in our eyes you'll stay." I made the connection to the fact that her dream family is on a billboard right across the street from the house, and in the imaginary house you can see the window to Claire's room in the attic. Claire will stay in their eyes because the billboard is right across the street from the house where she is neglected and abused.

I love the attention to detail jack has. When the rain drops hit the burger and go down the fake dads face you can tell afterwards she was outside staring at the billboard all day now she has to turn around and go back to that hell hole.

The cohesive theme is being truly seen. Claire wants to be seen. The grandpa literally can't see and wants to be seen as wanted, the father only sees himself and wants to be seen as beautiful, and the mother can't see clearly in her delirium and wants to be seen as a martyr. None of them see her or her wants, seeing only themselves and their wants, so much so that she can be mistaken for an outsider to the home. We all need to be seen, but a child can suffer in a home where each individual can't see beyond their own desires.

I think the over arching theme is escapism, everyone including Opal tries to use escapism to feel better.

why do I feel like I'm staring into the void with hell in the background, listening to a floating demon with his legs crossed, diguised as a human to put me at ease whilst talking about a piece of art?
