It's like moving on after a break up because everyone says that's what you're supposed to do, but there's a weird disconnect when you aren't fully ready for it. You miss genuine moments with people who could probably be wonderful and you lose little bits of yourself everytime you force something. It's lonelier in a bed with someone you can't connect with than it is in a bed by yourself.

This really drive the hollow and empty feeling home. As you watch Dodie trying to find wholeness again with all these different people, but failing.

When she says "all worked up for something dead," it really got me. Because over time trying gets dull. It's not exciting, or thrilling, it just amplifies the intense feeling of loneliness

this song feels like trying to fill the hole someone left in you; but every time you try, it just feels more and more like picking up the shovel. and then you don’t know how to help yourself, and then you’re left writhing on the floor crying your eyes out. anyways. i love this song and you sm dodie

I discovered this song when I was in a bad place mentally, and just a few days before my boyfriend left me. I had done something that hurt him bad, and this song truly expresses the void you feel when someone you love don’t want anything to do with you anymore.

Something about the way dodie writes is just so beautiful. It isn't complex lyrically at all, it's simple and easy to understand, yet it's very impactful. I feel like that's such a hard balance to get and dodie consistently achieves it (thanks in no small part to the amazing instrumentals that go along with it too). dodie's music I like because the meanings are easy to interpret and I can put myself in the shoes of her or whatever character she portrays

Just noticed the soft "now" at 0:46 after "Put me in a car, I just want to go home". Incredible how much depth there is to the production of this.

I love the way she's drinking wine by herself. It's almost like she's trying to numb the longing for that one person over and over again, but in the end she misses him/her anyways

Those faceless hookups becoming literal is a very scary thought.

The effect of the complex, beautiful chorus after the verse is just devastatingly emotional.
