He played the chracter as he was meant to be played and as he was directed to play him and he did a good job giving us what Lucas wanted. The guy is cool in my book. I'm not a big Jar Jar fan, but the hate on him and the character is pretty insane.

Ahmed seems like a great guy. I don't blame him for making Phantom Menace a fiasco. He played a part and took direction. He did not create the character, nor did he write the dialog or direct Jar Jar's actions. Lucas got from Ahmed what he wanted for Jar Jar, otherwise Lucas would have directed him to do something else. Plus, after learning that Michael Jackson wanted the role, imagine how much worse Jar Jar would have been! We should actually be thanking Ahmed Best for playing the part!

I was 12 when I saw Phantom Menace, and as Ahmed says, I really don't see the big problem with Jar Jar. Yes he's goofy, and kind of a pain, but so what, you normally have characters like that anyway. People just like to hate.
