I watched it last night, would have loved to see this in theaters with all the surround sound. Of course, I play world of war ships on full volume because I like hearing how close and how far shots are especially if they are coming in behind me

The spooky whale type sounds adds to the suspense!

After crossing the Atlantic they could have shown the Easy Company paratroopers from Band of Brothers on the transport ship waving at the sub, and Tom Hanks waving back yelling "You're welcome, guys. Have fun in England!"

I'm more amazed by the fact the U-boat can see in the dark

One thing I find completely inaccurate in this and other scenes. The closing speed of that attacking submarines is way too fast as called out by the sonar operators. Covering two hundred yards etc, in almost less time than it takes to yell it. Their top speed was 19 miles an hour. In other words, they would close four hundred yards in sixty seconds, not six. Dramatic license for the audience I guess.

So how was Tom Hanks both a captain of a US navel ship and a US Army Ranger in WW2?

U-boats on the surface would always have crew on top or they were blind - why don't they get this simple fact right?
