Thank you for making this. I was clueless as to why my food wouldn’t stay hot. And great tip to heat the water on a Kureig!

Great Idea I’ve been putting the food into a ziplock and filling the thermos with hot water using the kuerig. Sometimes the bag leaks. I will do this tomorrow morning for my daughter.

It usually is best practise to do this but probably not necessary. These things are amazing and can keep stuff hot for like a goof 12+ hours(I've tried ramen and soups).

One of my all time favorite thermos meals , I just call it Walmart Mac . Cook two boxes of Walmart mac & cheese , fry up one pound of Walmart breakfast sausage , combine em and mix in several tablespoons of Walmart picante sauce . I'm looking forward to trying pizza rolls !

I pour hot water from tge kettle in for 5 mins tgen add the hot food. The problem may be that the rest of theblinch is kept cool withban ice pack, thus cooling fown the tgermos i think. May need to be packed separately Does this sound right?

I am not sure how those 14 dollar Thermos flasks are made but I don't think they have a doubled skinned glass tube. Thermoses loose heat ( like anything else does) due to the temperature gradient between the outside and inside temp. So by heating it first you are stopping the food or hot soup from needing to do that heating. The other tip is to wrap it in sports kit or woolen Jersey if the child carries one to school. Anything to keep the environment at the outer edge of the Thermos warm will help reduce the temperature difference and keep the food or drink inside warmer.
