I love how, after this incident, the training instructors were so shocked by what Shin did that they couldn't completely ream him for what he did.

I mean, yeah, I can understand why they wouldn't want him to jump the mech. It is a risky move that isn't guaranteed to work as not everyone would be able to copy it, even a competent pilot would be hard pressed to copy such a move. It's a showboat move meant only for daredevils, not military personnel.

Scenes like this really just show how big the gap between shin and everyone else is. The spearhead members themselves are already overpowered as fuck compared to normal pilots, but none of them go about piloting without any regard for their own lives or their mech's like shin does.
